Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (TAGEM)

TAGEM is the research organisation of the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. TAGEM conducts and funds agricultural research projects on national and international level. There are 48 research institutes and 2.111 researchers under the administration of TAGEM throughout Turkey. In EQVEGAN, TAGEM is responsible for the development of education materials in the Green skills module and implementation of training to EQF6 and EQF7 levels. TAGEM is the leader of training for trainers for EQF4 and 5 levels. TAGEM has responsibilities in Internal and external quality assurance of the project as well.

Dr. İlkem Demirkesen Mert is a food engineer. She has been working at the General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policy (TAGEM). She contributes to the Green Skills and Plant Skills modules in EQVEGAN.

Yıldıray İstanbullu has been working as a director of an institute in TAGEM. He has an academic qualification in Food Engineering (Bachelor’s degree and master). He is continuing his doctoral programme in bioengineering.

Dr. Banu Akgün has been a researcher in TAGEM for 8 years. She has an academic qualification in Food Engineering (Bachelor’s degree and PhD). She is responsible for the Green Skills module.

Nurcan A. Güzelsoy has a PhD degree in Food Engineering and is working in TAGEM as a researcher. She has participated in or led national and international projects related to food science and nutrition. In EQVEGAN, she is contributing in the development of the Green Skills module, together with other tasks.

Ahmet Budaklıer is working at the Food and Feed Research Department of TAGEM. He has a BSc in Food Engineering and is the national representative of Turkey in SUSFOOD2 ERA-Net Cofund. He has close contact with TAGEM institutes and has the profile information of researchers who can implement training programs.
