The EQVEGAN project is coming to an end and the consortium held its final meeting in Poznan on 20 October at the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition (FSN) – Poznan University of Life Sciences, hosted by Prof. Zbigniew Krejpcio and his team.

The partners were welcomed by Prof. Dr hab. Piotr Goliński, Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations and Dr. hab. Bożena Danyluk – Dean of FSN, both of whom were very pleased with the participation of FNS in the project and highlighted the importance of international projects for the development of the network and the projection of the university.

The topics discussed were related to the progress of the project, the last steps to be taken and the outputs to be published and disseminated. The consortium has produced several training materials ç including topics such as plant-based food processing, sustainability, automation/digitalisation, and soft skills. These materials will soon be available as open educational resources, by previously registering on the stakeholders database of the Food Skills portal.  

A sector skills alliance is about to be established, with the aim at monitoring skill needs, develop training, improve recognition of competences of food professionals and foster transnational mobility of workers, with a focus on plant-based food companies. Project partners will be the initial members of the alliance, but later it will be open to other institutions.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity to discuss the results of the project and to sump-up the achievements made over the last three years. Rui Costa, leader of the EQVEGAN project, led the meeting and acknowledged all partners for their commitment, enthusiasm and competence, and for the hard work of all the involved staff.
